Over the past few months, the 21 organisations forming the Renters’ Reform Coalition have come together to set out a plan for how the government should address the renting crisis.
In the King's Speech today (Wednesday 17 July) it was confirmed the Labour government will work on a new Renters' Rights Bill, in order to "give greater rights and protections to people renting their homes, including ending no fault evictions and reforming grounds for possession”.
On Friday 28 October, members and supporters of the Renters’ Reform Coalition released a joint statement calling for the Renters’ Reform Bill to be published as a matter of urgency.
We are delighted to share the results of public polling commissioned by the Renters' Reform Coalition and carried out by Opinium over the summer. For the first time, this polling reveals the sheer scale of public support for private renting reform.
On Thursday 16 June the government published the Renters’ Reform White Paper, A fairer private rented sector. White papers are documents that set out the government's intentions for policy change on a particular topic.
